How to Get Rid of Pet Hair

Having pets in the house is a fun thing to do. Children will have a blast taking care of these pets. The one problem with pets is their hair that they leave around the place. Dogs and cats are the common pets that usually shed their hair. Pets usually leave their hair on clothes, furniture, floors, and carpeting and on any possible surface. In order to keep your house clean and to keep pets at home, you have to regularly clean the place, but there are easy ways to get rid of pet hair.

Three Easy Steps to Getting Rid of Pet Hair

Step 1:

If you have pets in the house, you should have a pet hair vacuum cleaner. Thoroughly cleaning your home would help with getting rid of the pet hair. Clean corners, curtains and vacuum walls to get rid of the hair that may be there when pets hid or slid into corners of the house. Pets like cats, usually pounce on furniture and near curtains leaving strands of their fur in these places. The problem with pet hair is that it can cling to the curtains and on carpets when there is static and when a room in the house is low in humidity. It is best to humidify a room and get rid of the static before you vacuum to ensure that the all the pet hair will be vacuumed easily.

Step 2:

There are times when a pet’s hair is found on surfaces like the crannies in the floor and on the walls. The best thing to do here is to use a damp mop the wipe the floors and a sponge to clean carpets and walls. This should be done after vacuuming a place so as to be sure that there are no stray hairs on the other surfaces that would mix with your mopping. A great technique is to use fabric softener with a little bit of water and spray these before vacuuming carpets. You will be able to get rid of the static that holds hair to the fibers of carpets. You can also sprinkle a bit of baking soda on carpets before vacuuming it helps detach the hairs from the carpet.

Step 3:

The good thing about static is that hairs can be easily picked up by materials that produce static.  Anything is made of rubber is good to get hair out of the upholstery. Rubber creates static and so when rubbed against the upholstery, it can pick up stray hairs. You can also use Velcro to gather stray hairs. Bush these on your sofas and upholstery and you will find that the hairs stick to it. You can prevent pets from hiding in the corners of your house by keeping your house clean and clutter-free. Keep clothes in places where your pets cannot reach them and make sure to always clean on a regular basis to make sure that pet hair does not pile up. wash and clean rugs at home to be sure that there are no pet hairs.
